Mike explains some technical elements of the design that HCE were ready to accommodate:
“The ventilation system was very complex and with both kitchens having separate workings and controls it was something that we had to be aware of. On this particular project we also supplied all the duct works and the fans and the controllers which were actually put on the exterior of the building on a steel framework. Fire suppression is an element that is really required when there’s a risk involved and we tend to put these in in virtually every project that has gas equipment. We also had to maintain some gas here because there wasn’t enough electricity output, even with equipment optimised to work on lower power. ”
With the project complete and finished on time, Steph was delighted with the final result:
“The project was completed on time and had minimum impact on our teaching curriculum. I would be pleased to recommend HCE as a company to work alongside for refurbishment of a kitchen in an educational establishment. They have been a pleasure to work alongside and our end product is fantastic.”
The project has also proved very popular with the lecturers too, as Patrick McLoughlin explains:
“I come into the kitchen to teach and feel confident and happy that I can now teach using the equipment. This refurbishment ensures Fareham college is now at a competitive level with state of the art equipment.”
With everything delivered on time, the result was a fantastic refurbishment, Mike was very proud of the job that HCE carried out:
“It’s fabulous to see the end result. It’s been a team collaboration from the design to installation and it is great to see the finished result.”
